Mayor’s stunt costs ratepayers

IN The Bunyip story, ‘An Apology On The Way’, it quotes Cr Isaac Solomon as stating that “the Mayor didn’t go out of her way to try and defame and ruin the character of someone.”

It’s not his role to be an apologist for Ms Redman! The fact is that Mayor Redman declared me to be a health and safety risk to both the CEO and to council should I be allowed to attend a meeting and give a deputation.

She didn’t merely ‘imply’ it Cr Solomon, as you say for her in the ‘apology statement’ that you have written for Ms Redman to read out, oh no Cr Solomon, Mayor Redman publicly declared it!

Cr Solomon also knows, but chooses not to mention, that without any need for a costly investigation, Mayor Redman had agreed to give me a public apology.

However, at the December 12 2023 council meeting, Mayor Redman deliberately switched off her microphone, rejected two requests from councillors to turn her microphone back on, and proceeded to give an ‘apology statement’.

Because Mayor Redman pulled her microphone stunt, Cr Solomon sent the original complaint to the lawyers for investigation.

The lawyers found Mayor Redman guilty of four breaches of the Behavioural Standards for Council Members and their fee was $12,100!

Had Mayor Redman apologised as agreed, and not pulled her microphone stunt, rate payers would not have lost $12,100 on a totally avoidable lawyer investigation! Mayor Redman has still not been held to account for pulling that microphone stunt.
