Warning: you have just been fined

I RECENTLY received a parking infringement notice from Town of Gawler in the mail – yes, snail mail – informing me that I had infringed on parking restrictions at the STARplex where I had recently begun working.

This was a warning only (no fine), which I thought was a wonderful thing the council had finally done, although I did wonder why a notice wasn’t just put on the windscreen so that I could find out what restrictions I had infringed on and make sure I didn’t inadvertently do it again.

Before I had a chance to discuss this with my employer and find out where I should be parking, I received another letter from council informing me of a parking infringement at Starplex, however this time it was no warning but a $63 fine.

Perhaps council could have saved the rate payers the cost of taking a photo of my car and mailing me a warning as the warning was really no warning at all.

Thanks Gawler council for your awesome customer relations. Not.

Dean Docherty, Gawler West
