HomeOpinionHardly a showcase

Hardly a showcase

AS a proud and contented resident of Gawler, I write with concern at the ever-declining “look” of the Gawler CBD, and Murray Street in particular.

Forget the numerous empty and rundown shops situated on the southern/eastern side of Murray Street.

They pale into insignificance compared to the embarrassing and disgraceful state of the disused, one-time kindergarten and deserted and boarded up house, both located between Cafe Nova and the movie theatre.

The sight of both does nothing to enhance the image of Gawler for residents, visitors and tourists alike.

They are unacceptable.

And both sites are owned by a member of the Town of Gawler council.

No concept of a perceived conflict of interest here?

Say no more.

Richard Harris,
Gawler
