EXCELLENT news to all of my fellow musos, with the Town of Gawler passing a motion unanimously to remove the $72 fee for buskers in our town.
It was interesting to hear that, in the past year, there have only been three busking applications, with myself being one of them.
As I have previously mentioned, the $72 fee is impractical for those who only perform on a few occasions a year.
The removal of the fee brings the Town of Gawler in line with The Barossa Council, who do not impose a busking fee.
Local music supports a sense of community, it sparks conversations, shares smiles and then forms bonds.
A simple song can create lasting memories and strengthen the fabric of our town.
So, here’s to the musicians who grace our streets and to the town that supports and cherishes their art.
