Gawler’s community spirit

ONE of Gawler’s most beloved events is returning for another massive year of Village Fair fun.

This year’s fair is set to be “the best ever” with a huge range of stalls, fun and entertainment for the entire community.

Since the Covid-19 lockdowns, which proved to be extremely isolating for all, our local community have been flocking to events such as this year’s Fringe festival and local art exhibitions like Arts on the Plains.

The high level of engagements from locals only solidifies our need for activities and events that let people come together and celebrate their community, culture and local art.

This week, I have also been visiting local households who have gone above and beyond to decorate their front yard for Halloween.

Many also spent their Tuesday night dressed as wizards, witches and everything in-between to hand out bags of lollies to our youngsters.

And just as one season closes, another opens with the return of the Gawler Apex Community Christmas Market later this month.

The Gawler Carols will also be held the weekend after the Gawler Christmas Parade, which is making a comeback to Murray St after 40 years on the evening of Saturday, December 2.

Gawler continues to prove itself as one of the most communityorientated places to be, and our forever growing team is excited to be a part of it.
