Gather ready

I WRITE to you about future AFL Gather Rounds in South Australia.

The Barossa has seen tremendous investment into sporting facilities across the region, and it puts us in a great position to hopefully host an AFL Gather round game next year.

As just one example, take a look at the Tanunda Rec Park upgrade which is still under construction.

The former Liberal State Government with Barossa Council and working with local clubs have pumped more than $8m into a second oval, lighting, brand new club rooms, change rooms, viewing areas – all of which will be delivered this year.

I know the council and the AFL have already identified that improvements to oval surfaces would likely be needed.

Everyone is raring to go and we just need the nod from the AFL.

We’re a proud sporting region and we love our footy; we’re ready, we’ll all be working on it!
