I Noticed Martin Kennedy did not compare Gawler council rates with the Barossa rates.
On a value of council rates of $500,000 I did a comparison Gawler rates are 0.00529, and multiplied by 500,000, this equals $2645.
Regional landscape is 0.00009244 , and this equates to $46.
Waste management is $232. When added all up, this gets you $2923.
Barossa rates are 0.00353, equalling $1765 when multiplied by 500,000.
Regional landscape is 0.00009542, which equals $47, and waste management is $176.
There is a fix charge of $380.
All added up, this results in $2368. So Gawler is $550 more expensive than the Barossa.
I suppose someone has to pay for the huge cost to redo the parking of the 100m of Commercial lane and other beautifications which have taken place in Gawler.
