More to Barossa Valley than wine alone

RECENTLY I visited the Barossa Valley with Shadow Minister for Health and Member for Schubert, Ashton Hurn.

The Barossa Valley is well-known for its wonderful wines, however, it is also home to many other industries such as craft distilling, agriculture, tourism and hospitality as well as creating some amazing artisan produce.

Workforce shortages, issues with housing, water security and tourism accommodation were among the issues discussed with community leaders.

It was also great to catch up with president of Livestock SA Joe Keynes on his sheep and cattle farm, Keyneton Station, to discuss electronic identification in the sheep and goat industry.

I took the opportunity to purchase some products from Mt Bera Vineyards and Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, two great family businesses that are taking the tourism and hospitality industry by storm!

Nicola Centofanti, Shadow Minister for Regional South Australia
