Weigh in

I hopped on the scales, and couldn’t believe my eyes, that can’t be right, the stupid thing lies!

Got on again and looked in disbelief, it was just the same – oh good grief.

Looked in the mirror and saw a new roll of fat, last time I looked, I didn’t have that!

Had my cholesterol checked, it was seven point four.

How did that happen, it wasn’t that high before.

Most days we have two fruits and five veg, maybe it’s the chocolate I keep high on a ledge.

Or the cheese – I have a small piece, but go back for more, too much butter and ice cream, no wonder my tummy gets sore.

Come to think of it, I’m a bit out of touch, I’ll have to be strong and not eat so much!

Wendy Ryde, Gawler East
