Emergency bulk water site opening at Elizabeth

A NEW bulk water collection point will open tomorrow at Elizabeth Park to provide relief to people across the northern suburbs who are in need of emergency supply.

The new emergency water collection point at Yorktown Road in Elizabeth Park aims to service off-grid households facing delays to deliveries from private water providers.

The new site comes as six new water carting services were accredited by SA Health with the aim to ease pressure on existing water carting services.

Minister for climate, environment and water Susan Close said the new collection point is vital for off-grid households across the northern suburbs.

“This is an emergency response, and we have the flexibility to operate individual sites as required to ensure that we are responding to public demand,” she said.

From March 17, the operating hours at all four collection points – Elizabeth Park, McLaren Vale, Sandergrove and Woodside will be 1 pm to 7pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday.

More information about the emergency bulk water collection points is available at www.environment.sa.gov.au/
