ASSERTIONS in The Bunyip (March 13th) that the symbols on the Centenary Lane mural make the town feel like home to locals is incorrect.
Women live in Gawler as well.
With the exception of two pieces of art, the focus is on what men in Gawler do – play football, cricket, drive cars, take photographs and behave stupidly on trains.
I would respectfully suggest that future street art in Gawler better acknowledge the contribution of women.
I also think future street art could include some less stereotypical depictions of how men in Gawler contribute to the community.
