New idea for café space

I SEE that the café in the Library area is closing again due to perceived lack of patronage and apparently not enough profit if any.

How about offering the café to community groups on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis?

The groups could do the catering, make coffee, sandwiches and cake etc., sell it to the public and keep any profits to help them in their charity causes.

Maybe have one staff member to do ordering of pies, pasties etc. if you want to, but leave the sandwiches, slices and coffee to the community group who is rostered on at the time.

No big companies involved, money stays in Gawler area in aid of local charities, the café stays open – win, win.

Probably the best roster would be weekly as some community groups are only small. Monday – Friday, say 10am – 2pm.
