One of the great mysteries

While it remains one of the great mysteries of the world how the ToG council (I presume) originally approved for the construction of the now-called Gawler Hillside Care Community, situated on Duffield Street, Gawler East, with totally inadequate car parking for both staff and visitors, there is now a disaster waiting to happen at any time.

During visiting hours, in particular, but also when delivery trucks are present, on far too many occasions, with vehicles parked on both sides of Duffield Street, vehicles can’t drive between them, let alone emergency vehicles or service trucks and buses.

The situation is magnified when, again due to a lack of design, large skip bins are placed in the limited area designed for delivery vehicle drop-offs, thus preventing them from entering the premises.

As a first resort, despite the inconvenience caused to visitors, a continuous yellow line needs to be extended past the Gawler Hillside Care Community, on the western side of Duffield Street immediately, thus allowing parking on one side of the street only.

A short-term fix only, then somehow, expanded off-road parking must be developed.
