SO the big boys, Coles and Woolworths, claim that price gouging is dead and buried.
Today, I purchased a 430g ‘home brand’ jar of sliced black olives from Woolworths Gawler.
The price tag on the shelf read $2.00.
It scanned at $2.45 at the check-out to be told, after the price tag had been checked, that “this is an old tag”.
The price increase is 22.5 per cent and that’s not price gouging?
