Welcome back Christmas Parade

THE Gawler Christmas Parade returned after a 40-year-absence and it was evident to see that the town missed it.

Thousands from the area (and more than a few from far away) took to the streets to see the spectacle.

It was really great to see what looked like the entire community coming together to celebrate the holidays with their family and friends.

The Bunyip congratulates all the people whose hard work made the parade possible.

While it may have looked easy, there was a lot of dedication that went into bringing the parade back, and the passion of those behind the scenes shone through.

Then to see so many head to Apex Park afterwards – it would not be inaccurate to say there was hardly room to swing a cat.

But the whole night, there were people smiling, laughing, and connecting with each other.

It embodied what community spirit is all about.

Hopefully we can see something very similar for next year.
