‘We will survive’

A LOCAL travel agent is doing all it can to survive the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like other industries and businesses, Gawler’s Phil Hoffmann Travel (PHT) is feeling the pinch of the coronavirus, however branch manager and co-owner Adam Hunt said it would continue to operate with sustainability in mind.

“This is tumultuous times, and most industries and businesses are affected,” he said.

“Travel is resilient, and whilst this is an extremely challenging and evolving environment, we have been through global challenges before, and know what it takes to survive.”

Mr Hunt said staff at the Gawler office could still assist residents with travel needs.

“There’s no better time to have a good travel agent on your side for 24/7 peace of mind,” he said.

“We do have some new measures in place to protect the wellbeing of our staff and community, so please do make an appointment prior to seeing us.

“There are some amazing deals out for travel later in 2020 or even in 2021. We are seeing a pick-up in bookings to Europe for 2021 taking advantage of these great deals. Feel free to call 8523 0055.”

Staff at PHT Gawler are being retained for “the foreseeable future”.

“We are doing all possible to look after our valued team members in the short and long term,” Mr Hunt said.

“Our state-wide team is a big family and we all love working for PHT, so many have accepted reduced hours, or brought forward annual leave, which has been fantastic.

“We are all making sacrifices for the greater good and sustainable future.”

Mr Hunt thanked clients for their patience during these “unchartered waters”.

“Please supports us when you are ready to hit the skies, or seas, again,” he said.
