BAROSSA United continued its winning run by defeating the Red Stars 7-4 at John Hart Reserve in Port Adelaide on Sunday.

It was a bizarre game, with coach Daniel Cannon needing to step in as referee, and the opposition having to have players slot into the match because they were running late.

Barossa United was strong from the start with Jacob Cannon kicking the first goal, from a free kick.

The next came as the ball was in dispute, with both teams fumbling the ball without the ball really going anywhere, until James Ruwoldt came in and kicked the ball from amongst all the legs straight into the back of the net.

From there, the Red Stars nailed two goals before halftime to level the scores 2-2.

The third goal for Barossa was taken by Harri Blake, who celebrated too hard and got tangled in the net.

Young Federico Arias scored United’s fourth goal, and not too long afterwards Dylan Hage-Grey brought the score to 5-2.

Red Stars fought back and managed a third goal, but it was short lived with Stuart Shipway and James Ruwoldt bringing the score to 7-3.

Lenney Lower played a great game, defending, getting in amongst it and keeping pace with the Red Stars.

Luke French was also solid for always standing his ground.

The Red Stars slotted home another goal late, but it was all over by then.
