Truck crash causes blackout
1 min read

MORE than 2140 properties were without power on Monday after a truck collided with a Stobie pole at Wasleys.

The truck was travelling north on Mudla Wirra Road when it lost control and made contact with the pole shortly after 6.15am.

No one was injured in the incident, which caused large amounts of fuel to spill onto the road.

The driver, a 58-year-old man, was taken to Gawler Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

A total of 2148 properties, stretching between Wasleys, Gawler River, Thompson Beach and Wild Horse Plains, were without power for most of the morning.

About 30 per cent of affected properties, largely at Wasleys, had power resumed about 10.45am, while 1509 properties, including at Mallala, had power restored at 2.30pm.

Traffic was restricted for several hours but the road later reopened.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
