THREE local junior footballers have been
accepted into the Adelaide Crows’ AFLW
academy, with Angaston pair Hayley Henke
and Kate Argent-Bowden being joined
by Kapunda’s Halle Butcher.
Henke and Argent-Bowden will get a
chance to train under AFLW-level coaching.
Butcher, who recently tore her ACL, will be
guided through her rehabilitation under the
watchful eye of experts who often deal with
the injury.
Crows academies manager Jarrod Meers
said the academy was doing its job of preparing
the next wave of potential draftees.
“The talent level of this squad just gets better
and better,” he said.
“As the pathway for female footballer develops,
our athletes are coming to us with
great skills and we are able to spend more
time working with them on craft and game
education. “The program will continue to unearth
talent for our club and gives us a chance
to get an early up-close look at the next generation
of talent.”
