Trinity tumbles in 40-over format
1 min read

TRINITY Old Scholars had a long drive home on Saturday after leaving Reynella with a 46-run loss in Adelaide Turf Cricket Association A1 play.
Playing as a one-dayer after last weekend was washed out, the TOSers lost the toss and were made to bowl first.
It was a difficult start for the visitors, with Reynella opener Richard Gabb (78 from 69 deliveries) helping his side start 1/130, allowing the hosts to play with little concern about losing wickets.
Bradley Schaper (3/54), Joshua Southwell (3/62) and Todd Watt (2/40) were just okay, combining to concede more than six runs-per-over on the way to a total of 9/218.
Trinity’s chase got off to a safe start, reaching 0/53, before a run of quick wickets made it 5/86 and left far too much work for the tail-end as the TOSers fell for 172.
Ardene Ruhode top-scored with 33, with Schaper chipping in with 31 in an all-round effort to complement his three wickets.
In A3, Trinity played well, but failed to post a big enough score to hold off Brahma Lodge and a big ton from opener Thomas Durrant.
Batting first, TOSer openers Daniel De Ruvo and Tom Clements started strong, building a platform of 0/76 as De Ruvo top-scored with 55.
Back-to-back runouts to Clements and number-three Brad Cameron (39) severely hindered Trinity’s ability to get near 200, with the middle-order guiding the home side to 6/179.
Brahma Lodge’s Durrant carried the chase, scoring 108 from 114 deliveries – 87 runs more than his nearest teammate – to win by three wickets.
Trinity was blown off the park in LO 4, losing by nine wickets after being bowled out for 94 by Adelaide Warriors.
In Para District Cricket Association LO 2 play, Trinity collected a five-wicket win after successfully chasing down North Pines’ total of 191 in 35 overs.
