Trinity moves one game clear of relegation zone
1 min read

TRINITY Old Scholars’ chances of retaining Adelaide Football League division five status received a big boost on Saturday, after they thrashed Blackfriars Old Scholars by 10 goals at Waldeck Oval.

The TOSers were on a six-game losing streak, with three of those games decided by more than 100 points.

However, Trinity started in style on the weekend, largely thanks to the work of Jordan Smith and Jace O’Hara.

The Eves brothers, Travis and Trent, were winning plenty of the ball, while Dylan Winning and newly-wed Brad Cameron, who showed no signs of jet lag having returned from his overseas honeymoon a day earlier, were also handy.

Trinity continued to kick away from its opponents and booted 14.12 to 5.6 by the final siren, as Smith finished with five majors and O’Hara with two.

Smith was far and away Trinity’s best, while the Eves boys, Winning and Jamie Forwood were inspirational.

For Blackfriars, Antonio Scaffidi- Muta kicked four of its five majors.

In the reserves, Trinity secured a 22-point win over Blackfriars.

Matt Perry made it nine goals in three weeks with another bag of four, while Matt Gibson added two.

Brad Schaper and Phil Ween kicked one each, and Jake Angel was best on ground.
