TOSers take four-pointer
1 min read

WITH six teams still in finals contention in the Adelaide Footy League’s division six competition, Trinity Old Scholars grabbed a crucial win against fellow contender Marion in a result worth double for the TOSers’ finals hopes.
Of the six teams in contention, Marion was the only one to drop a game on the weekend, leaving the TOSers in the top-five with the worst percentage of the challengers after some rough results early in the year.
Trinity captain Dylan Winning said he was proud of the effort of his troops who came ready to battle from the first bounce.
“We started extremely well being seven goals up at quarter time kicking with the breeze,” he said.
“From there we just continued building on it throughout the game.
“It was easily our best four-quarter game of the year with everybody up-and-about knowing how massive a game it was.”
After a belting in round one, the season threatened to get away from the TOSers, but Winning said being able to gel as a unit has unlocked more of his side’s potential.
“From round one to now, it’s just been getting used to playing with each other and all getting on the same page,” he said.
“It’s been about getting our fitness up, which has helped us play how went want to for a whole quarter without having five-minute lapses where we let other teams back in.”
The TOSers play away at struggling Mawson Lakes this week while the league’s top two sides, Hectorville and Elizabeth, play in a game where a loss to either side opens the door for the swoopers.
