AFTER a disappointing beginning to its Division Six Adelaide Footy League campaign, Trinity Old Scholars got back on track on Saturday with a 75-point home win against Ingle Farm.
TOSer forward Domenic Barilla bagged six on the day to lead the way, matching the total goals kicked by the visiting side, in an effort Trinity will hope it more representative of its chances this season.
Trinity captain Dylan Winning said he was proud of the way his side responded out of the gates after a tough opening round.
“It’s very pleasing to get a good win on the board,” he said.
“Our first half was excellent, and then we dropped away slightly in the second half, but the game was well and truly won by then.
“A couple of players in this week made a big difference, and it was an overall team game where everybody did their part to contribute to the win.
“A dry day and a big oval made a massive difference for us to run and use the footy as well.”
Winning also pointed out Cam Matters and Andrew Pounendis as star performers, with the pair providing four combined goals and a collecting plenty of tough footy.
The big margin puts the TOSers into fifth place as the best of the 1-1 sides, with a matchup against a Para Hills side this weekend that has suffered consecutive 100-point losses to start its season.
