TOSers bring the fight to St Peter’s
1 min read

TRAVELLING to St Peter’s College, Trinity Old Scholars’ A1 Adelaide Turf Cricket Association side put up a solid 181 to defend on day two after a balanced batting performance saw seven batsmen reach double figures.
Openers Shaun Lay and Jarryd Furnell did their job, scoring 38 and 27 respectively and batting for over an hour apiece, before number-three Eythan Barraclough undid some hard work with his third consecutive innings achieving less than five runs.
Mitchell Dearing chipped in with a patient 34 from 95 deliveries, before a rare 10-11 tail-end partnership saw bowlers Liam Beazleigh (24) and Bradley Matters (14) show some skill with the
willow.
In B1 Trinity looked comfortable on its home deck against the visiting Rostrevor Old Collegians, winning the toss and going on to make 366 in its 76 overs.
With seven batsmen eclipsing 23 runs, it was a miserable day in the field as Austin Smith (85),
Alex Cotter (63), Matthew Bailey (56) and Brad Cameron (55) ran roughshod over the visiting bowlers to set up what should be a comfortable day-two
defence.
In LO 4, Trinity hosted Blue Brigade in a one-day fixture and was unable to defend its 117 total.
With only number-nine Ryan Roberts (44) mounting a real score, four TOSers fell for two-or-fewer runs in a rough batting
performance.
Blue Brigade made the chase look easy, winning by six wickets with 16 overs remaining.
