THE Gawler Community Christmas Markets managed to provide some Christmas cheer on Saturday afternoon, with plenty in attendance.

The markets were run by the Gawler Apex Club following the cancellation of the traditional Christmas Carols due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has engulfed this year.

Gawler Apex Club’s Bronte Rhodes said it was a “huge success” despite the weather frustrations.

“There was a constant flow of people throughout the twilight markets,” he said.

“Even though the temperature and wind were extreme, 50 stalls still showed up on the day and all that I spoke to were pleased to make a profit.”

Mr Rhodes added there has been many enquiries already about next year’s markets from plenty of stallholders and attendees.

“Most stands were interested to find out if we were holding more markets next year,” he said.
