THE new council-member voting model of the state’s peak local government representative body, the Local Government Association (LGA) of South Australia, has created an “unsubstantiated and unjustifiable hierarchy”, according to one Gawler councillor.
GAWLER Mayor Karen Redman has defended a $10,000 increase to the Local Government Association’s (LGA) overall board member allowances as “not excessive” and reflective of recent changes made to the board’s structure.
