Mayor’s mission to mentor future women leaders

GAWLER’S first female elected Mayor Karen Redman will “shamelessly” strive to develop female leadership roles within the local community during her term of office.
Mrs Redman, who was elected in November, made the announcement she will be developing a women’s mentorship program for local women aged 18 to 30 at an International Women’s Day breakfast held at Gawler’s Uniting Church Hall this morning.

$25,000 statue refurbishment celebrated

THE $25,000 refurbishment of Gawler’s James Martin statue was commemorated by the release of balloons in a special ceremony on Saturday.
Paid for by the Gawler Council, the refurbishment saw the Whitelaw Terrace statue returned to its former glory.
