THE historic Lyndoch Road wall has finally been demolished, eight years after it was first identified as a safety risk.
AFTER nearly 14 months of waiting, two Gawler landowners have had their application to demolish a heritage wall along High Street granted by Gawler Council’s Assessment Panel.
GAWLER councillor Ian Tooley has launched a scathing assessment on council’s decision to reimburse two High Street landowners nearly $9000, in total, for the repair of a heritage wall on their property.
THE rapidly deteriorating condition of a heritage wall has forced Gawler Council to cordon it off from the public and close one direction of High Street.
AT least a third of Gawler’s heritage walls are in need of urgent repair and, despite allocating money towards the issue, Gawler Council appears no closer to solving the problem.
