Success for Gawler trainers

LAST Wednesday was another great card of thoroughbred racing at the Gawler track, and the local trainers took the chance to grab a win or two on the day.
Local trainer Gary Searle broke a recent run of bad luck and close misses with a great win in the first race of the day, courtesy of three-year-old Tosca Rocks.
Jockey Ryan Hurdle cut the corner and hugged the rail, before shooting through late to take a well-deserved win. It was a great result, with the horse locally owned, and no doubt putting a smile on some faces of people who have been valiantly running their own businesses in the recent times.
Searle was unlucky to not add to that, with two other runners on the day both finishing as impressive runners-up, with form that says a win is just around the corner.
The other local success on the day was the classy win by Bubbles McGinty for Gawler's Clint Binnie and Kerri McAnulty in race three.
The talented three-year-old filly put it all together and won easily, in part thanks to a peach of a ride from jockey Jake Toeroek, and in a fashion indicating more success should be coming its way soon.
Gawler’s next race meeting is on Wednesday June 17, and the club said it is working hard with Thoroughbred Racing SA and authorities in hope of seeing crowds return to the track soon.
