Students’ scarecrows support Anglicare
1 min read

ST Columba College students have celebrated Book Week with the addition of their first Scarecrow Storybook Trail.

Students and families were able to follow the trail before and after school, for a gold coin donation, with funds raised supporting the work of Anglicare SA.

A total of $2000 was raised for Anglicare SA thanks to sponsorship and silent auctions for the scarecrows.

Education minister John Gardener attended the college on Tuesday, October 20, to help launch the trail.

He was joined by the director of Catholic Education South Australia Dr Neil McGoran, Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty and college council members, who shared their love of reading and talked with students about how they use reading every day as part of their jobs.

The Minister talked about his favourite book, Magic Beach, which he enjoys reading with his young children.
