GAWLER prepared for the Barossa Valley A-women hockey finals series by obliterating Angaston-Moculta United 13-0 on Friday night at Stockwell.
The Strikers dominated the opening half, and led 5-0 at the break.
They then piled on a further eight goals to crush AMU in the closing game of the home and away season.
Jacqui Rowe scored four goals, while Hanna Kingsmill and Michelle Dikih both scored hat-tricks.
Jess Mensforth, Jess White and Kelly Rowntree added the other goals for the Strikers.
Meanwhile, Nuriootpa toppled Tanunda 3-0.
Amber Longo, Renee Bishop and Kim Doecke scored the first half goals to bury the Pies.
In A-men action, Gawler-Trinity Old Scholars’ campaign ended in poor fashion as they succumbed to AMU 0-7.
AMU scored three goals in the opening half, before putting the foot down with four more past the Gawler-Trinity keeper.
Daniel Wall and Cal Munchenberg nailed two goals each, while John Thomas, Simon Kilpatrick and Daniel Boehm also contributed.
Elsewhere, Nuriootpa overcame fierce rival Tanunda 2-1.
Dexter Falkenberg and Greg Schulz were inspirational with a goal each for the victors, while Steve Draper scored for Tanunda.
Meanwhile, the B-grade semi-finals kicked over the weekend.
In the women’s match, Gawler thumped Clare United 4-1 to advance to the preliminary final.
Georgia Hall scored a double, while Kerry Johnson and Tavia Zollo added two more for the Strikers.
Elsewhere, Tanunda booked its spot in the decider by thumping Trinity Old Scholars 6-0.
Mel Partington and Elizabeth Matthews both managed braces for the victors.
In the men, Nuriootpa Green overcame Tanunda Black 2-0.
Steve Gallasch and Sam Horn scored the goals for the Green side.
In the other final, Clare United defeated AMU Blue 2-1.
Sam Tiller and Max Price scored the goals for Clare, while Jason Seabrook managed one for AMU.
