GAWLER extended its undefeated streak to 16 games as it toppled Tanunda 6-0 in Barossa Valley A-women hockey action on Friday night at Trinity College.
The Strikers scored all six of their goals in the opening half, and took their foot off the gas after the break.
Kelly Rowntree led the way with two goals, while Jess Mensforth, Claire Donaldson, Sarah Afshin Pour and Jacqui Rowe also scored.
Elsewhere, Angaston-Moculta United defeated Nuriootpa 3-0.
AMU led 1-0 at the break, before adding another two after half-time.
Rachel Graetz, Savannah Barnden and Erin Casey did the damage for the victors.
In A-men action, Tanunda dismantled Gawler-Trinity Old Scholars 4-0.
Daniel Gogoll was terrific with a double, while Joe Bulla and Steve Draper scored.
Meanwhile, AMU accounted for Nuriootpa 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller.
United led 3-0 at half-time and looked to have the league leaders on the ropes.
Nuri then rallied with three second half goals, but it wasn’t enough.
Daniel Wall scored a brace for AMU, while Cal Munchenberg and Daniel Boehm also contributed.
For Nuri, Greg Schulz led from the front with a double, while Jordan Rhind continued his scoring run with another goal.
In B-women, Gawler thumped Nuriootpa 6-0.
Michelle Darling scored twice, while Kerry Johnson, Monique Smith, Fiona Reiman and Skye Body all shared the other goals.
Similarly, AMU defeated Trinity Old Scholars 3-1.
Jessica de Vos, Emalee Guerra and Nathalie Chumbley scored the goals for AMU.
In the remaining game, Tanunda crushed Clare United 5-1.
In B men, Trinity Old Scholars knocked off Nuriootpa Gold 4-3.
Nick Paget scored twice, while Matt Cameron and Daniel Johnson also chipped in.
For Gold, James Warner was the main goal-scorer with two.
AMU Blue drew 3-3 with Nuriootpa Green.
Jason Seabrook scored a hat-trick for AMU.
In the other matches, Tanunda Black toppled AMU Maroon 4-0, and Clare United crushed Tanunda White 6-0.
