ANGASTON survived a scare in its Barossa, Light & Gawler reserves football contest as it defeated South Gawler by three points on Saturday.

Panthers veteran Matt Doecke was terrific, while Brayden Dalby also played a vital role.

For South, Sam Ireland was impressive, as were Bailey Fielke and Brayden Cook.

Elsewhere, Barossa District thumped Freeling by 70 points.

Jason Rider and Jake Hadju kicked three goals each for the Bulldogs.

Carl Russell and Tom Carmichael both booted a goal each for the Redlegs.

Meanwhile, Gawler Central toppled Kapunda by 25 points.

Jordan Neat was best on ground and slotted three goals, while Paul Bova kicked two.

Finally, Tanunda overcame Willaston by 21 points.

Remy Detot was terrific with three goals, while Tom Falkenberg chipped in with two.

Matt Spirritt was the Donnybrooks’ best with three.

Under 17

South Gawler made ground on the top two with a 57-point victory over Angaston.

Cooper Pugliese was far and away the Lions’ best with six goals, while Cody Gilchrist slotted three.

For Angaston, Ned Grieve did his best with three of his own.

Meanwhile, Barossa District came from behind to beat Freeling by four goals.

The Bulldogs trailed by 15 points at three-quarter-time but kicked six goals to none in the final stanza.

Luke Standen, Luke Hadju, Rohan Nelson and Sam Griffiths all booted two goals for the Dogs, while Tom Hahn was the Redlegs’ best.

Elsewhere, Kapunda celebrated its first win of the season with a stunning three-point victory over Gawler Central.

The Bombers led at every break and withstood a late fightback from the Tigers.

Riley Menzel and Aidan Mudge kicked two each for the Bombers, while Bailey Puvogel was a standout for the Tigers with five of his side’s six goals.

Finally, Willaston defeated Tanunda by eight points.

The Donnybrooks were dominant early and led by 28 points at the final change.

Angus Arthur and Tahjin Krieg kicked seven goals between them.

For the Pies, Shay Linke slotted four majors.

Under 15

South Gawler defeated Angaston by 17 points in under 15 action.

Dillan Blown, Zac Piddington and Lochie Riggs all kicked two goals for the Lions, while Koby Rosenzweig kicked three majors for the Panthers.

Elsewhere, Barossa District knocked off Freeling by 78 points.

Sam Sibbick was sensational for the Dogs, kicking three goals.

Meanwhile, Gawler Central belted Kapunda by 66 points.

Kye Demarchi slotted four goals and Max Gray kicked three as the Tigers dominated.

Finally, Tanunda easily defeated Willaston by 43 points.

James Rothe kicked three goals and Ben Swan nailed two for the Magpies.
