Sasha showcases her softball talents
1 min read

IMMANUEL Lutheran School student Sasha Reynolds-Rowe showcased her softball talents last month as part of the SAPSASA competition at West Beach.

The year six student’s Gawler & District team won all eight of its games, and now she’s trying out for the state championships across the next month.

The 11-year-old, who plays for the Ingle Farm Falcons in the Elizabeth softball competition, said she originally started with T-ball.

“One of my mum’s friends was coaching T-ball, so I started off with that,” Sasha said.

“I worked up to softball, we (Ingle Farm) lost the first year, and this year we came in second.

“When I started I couldn’t hit the ball, but now I can hit it well enough to get everyone home.”

Despite the main features of softball involving pitching and batting, Sasha enjoys the more athletic side of the sport.

“Probably the running and the catching,” she said.

“I love learning about it.”

“I did play footy and tennis, but I ended up just staying with softball.”

Sasha’s next goal is to get into the South Australian side on a consistent basis, but her dream is set much higher.

“I’d love to play for Australia when I’m older,” she said.
