TWO Wells shot back to the top of the Adelaide Plains A-grade football ladder after dismantling premiership hopeful Hummocks-Watchman by 10 goals on Saturday.
The Roosters and Eagles could barely be split at the first two breaks, with the former holding a seven-point lead at each interval.
However, the reigning premier’s class shone through thereafter as it kicked 7.5 to 1.2 to shoot out to a 46-point lead at three-quartertime.
Two Wells then booted a further three goals to one to bury the Eagles.
Matt Camplin enjoyed a day out with four majors, while Ned Seccafien, Ty Hocking, Michael Knox and Jamie Humphreys all booted two goals.
For the Eagles, Nathan Studham was the only multiple goal-kicker with two.
Elsewhere, Balaklava continued Angle Vale’s world of pain in a 144-point drubbing.
The Peckers had control of the game throughout the first half, and booted 9.11 to two behinds to lead by 63 points at half-time.
The Owls couldn’t match it with their superior opponents, as they conceded a further 15 goals to three after the main break.
Shane Moss has the century in sight after he kicked 11 majors, taking his tally in the past two weeks to 32, and 92 for the season.
Teammate Lachy Michael booted a lazy five goals, while Billy King added two.
For the Owls, Brad Woodward slotted two snags, while Hudson Eeles was their best.
Meanwhile, Mallala punished Hamley Bridge by a whopping 249 points.
The Magpies were relentless, kicking 39 goals for the match to the Bombers’ one.
Brian Montgomery split the sticks 10 times, Brad Wilson seven, and Arran Fox six as Mallala took the Bombers to the cleaners.
Finally, United defeated Virginia by three points.
Both sides were playing for pride as they resided in sixth and fifth spots, respectively, prior to the match, and it was the Rams who initially looked in control.
Virginia led by eight points at half-time and by 16 points at threequarter-time, and appeared to have the game sewn up.
However, United kicked 3.2 to one behind in the final quarter to snatch an unlikely win.
Jesse Potts was the Tigers’ only multiple goal-kicker with two, while Callum Bartlett managed a brace for the Rams.
