Roosters rip Owls apart

TWO Wells extended its relentless winning streak to four matches after it crushed Angle Vale by 116 points in Adelaide Plains A-grade football on Saturday.

The Roosters obliterated the Owls from the first bounce, and were 40 points up at quarter-time.

Things didn’t get better for Angle Vale from there, as the deficit blew out to 69 points at the half-time break.

Matthew Camplin and Ned Seccafien were running riot for the Roosters, and that continued in the second half.

The Owls finally got on the board with a goal, but it made no difference as they trailed by 99 points at three-quarter-time.

The Roosters kicked 5.1 to 2.2 in the final quarter to finish with a percentage- boosting win.

Camplin finished with six majors, while Seccafien slotted four.

Michael Abdilla, Tallan Leighton, Ben Spiteri and Andrew Hardiman also kicked two each for the victors.

For the Owls, Lachie Mitchell, Kyle Cullen and Jay Rathmann booted majors, while recruit Hudson Eeles impressed on debut.

Elsewhere, Balaklava knocked off United by 41 points.

The Peckers and Tigers were close at three-quarter-time, with the former leading by five points at the final change.

However, United ran out of legs in the last quarter and the Peckers pounced, kicking 7.6 to two straight to secure the win.

Shane Moss kicked seven snags, while Jacob Wehr chipped in with three.

For the Tigers, Ross Sharer slotted four, while Heath Pym and Jesse Potts finished with two goals each.

Meanwhile, Hummocks-Watchman now sits atop the APFL table after it defeated Mallala by 28 points.

The Eagles got off to the perfect start and led by 20 points at quarter-time and never looked back.

The Pies pegged the margin back to 13 points at half-time, but it blew out to 28 by three-quarter-time, where it would remain at the final siren.

Jordan Bailey and Henry Wright kicked three goals each, while Nathan Studham continued to impress since his return from interstate with two majors.

For the Pies, Angus Bruggemann, Brad Wilson and Sam Clements all kicked two goals.

Lastly, Virginia enjoyed a percentage boosting 230-point win over Hamley Bridge.

The Rams terrorised the Bombers’ defence from the get go, kicking 21 goals in the first half.

Brendon Niklaus had a field day and finished with 19 majors, while Dylan Jessen chipped in with five.

Former Gawler Central player Danny Stanley was also impressive in the Rams’ win.
