CENTRAL District was
blown away in a scintillating
first half performance from
North Adelaide, resulting in a
48-point loss in the SANFL on
Saturday.
The Roosters were dealt the first
two blows at Prospect Oval, with
Andrew Moore and Sam McInerney
kicking the first two goals of the
game.
The two sides then went goal
for goal, with Aiden Grace securing
two and Marcus Barreau one
as the Dogs fought back into the
contest.
They were then quickly blown
away, as Magarey Medallist Campbell
Combe dominated before Lachie
Wilsdon began to put his foot
down.
Wilsdon secured four first quarter
goals, and he wasn’t in a mood to
slow down as his side led by six goals
at the first change.
Barreau and Grace again kicked
Centrals’ only goals of the quarter as
the Roosters ran riot.
Wilsdon couldn’t miss as he finished
the quarter with his seventh,
while Dyson Hilder, Aaron Young
and Keenan Ramsey all chipped in to
blow the margin out to 59 points at
half-time.
The Roosters were remarkably accurate
with 15.1, but it was a different
side in the second half.
Centrals kicked three unanswered
goals in the third quarter
with Nick Gillard, Connor
McLean and Travis Schiller all
convering.
The Roosters were held goalless for
the third and the margin was back to
42 points at the final break.
However, they then put their foot
down.
Three goals in as many minutes
did significant damage as the two
sides engaged in a final quarter
shootout.
Wilsdon secured his eighth
goal for the contest, while his
teammate McInerney slotted his
fifth.
For the Dogs, Grace landed his
fourth while McLean kicked his third
in an 11-goal final quarter for both
sides.
Harry Grant and Justin Hoskin had
24 touches apiece while Travis Schiller
had 23 to go with his goal.
