THE brand new Riverbanks College B-12 at Angle Vale is on schedule, only one year out from its first term of schooling in 2022.

The new school, which can accommodate up to 1500 students, 100 inclusive places for students with a disability and a 75-place children’s centre by 2026, is coming along strongly at its new Riverbanks Road location.

New principal Joe Priolo said he’s delighted to see the progress so far.

“I’m really excited, every time I come here I’m amazed by the progress, everything’s coming along,” he said.

“My leadership team and I are working at the moment getting the bits and pieces ready here for the school.

“We get a site visit about once a month, as we move forward, the frequency will probably increase.”

Mr Priolo added the reception from the surrounding community has been encouraging.

“All my interactions have been really positive, we’ve already had a number of families reach out in terms of enrolments and wanting to be connected with the school,” he said.

“Now my team and I are based in the community in a local transportable, we look forward to connecting even more and engaging with local families.

“We’re on track, we’re ahead of schedule, October is when can get in and access things and set stuff up for next year.”

Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said the school will help deliver “world-class quality” education to the region.

“It’s absolutely fantastic that we’re seeing quality educational facilities and a great leadership team of staff and teachers here at Riverbanks College,” he said.

“Angle Vale and the surrounds are one of the fastest growing areas in the state and all of our families and our young people deserve world class quality education close to home.”
