Review set for service levels

PLAYFORD councillors Clint Marsh and Misty Norris are pushing for a review into the service level related to urban street scape maintenance as they aim to push for a “clean, neat and tidy look”.
Cr Marsh said he believes a “lack of attention and funding” has been put into the maintenance side of an asset.
“I personally believe that there has been a lack of attention and funding put into the maintenance side of an asset and there are streets that are less appealing than what they were when residents moved into that area,” he said.
“I don’t think that’s fair from a rate point of view.”
He’s also eager for the community to play a role in bringing the clean look to the council area.
“The community themselves play a role in a joint venture with council,” he said.
“Council are delivering quite well in regards to the Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority (NAWMA) with the two hard waste collections available.
“If eight weeks is too long for some goods, which are unwanted that may have been sitting on a resident’s property for 10-15 years, you can get free trailer hire from NAWMA.
“The services are there, we need the community to strongly use those services they pay for.
“The overall objective is pride, and a clean, neat and tidy look.
“To have new assets put down and not maintained, I don’t think it’s appropriate for council to do that.”
