Raikiwasa brothers bid farewell to the Barossa
1 min read

DYNAMIC duo Aseri and Aisea Raikiwasa – known as ‘Bobby’ and ‘Magic’ – have both left Nuriootpa Rover Football Club ahead of the 2021 season, with Bobby heading to the Great Southern Football League, and Magic to the Eastern Eyre Football League.
Bobby accepted a player-coach role with Ports Football Club, while Magic signed on with the Goolwa-Port Elliot Magpies.
New Nuriootpa A-grade player-coach Kyle Jenner said the club thanks the pair for their service, and acknowledged they leave big shoes to fill.
“They will obviously be a big loss – we’ll miss them on the field, but also they are great people to have around the club,” he said.
“The club would like to thank them for their services over the years and wish them all the best for the future – funnily enough Aseri will be coaching against my dad in the Eastern Eyre League this year.”
Jenner also announced the signing of former SANFL key-position swingman Nick Madden, but said he is keen to see some of the local boys push to take the senior spots on offer.
“I’ve said it before that the sign of a good club is producing its own senior footballers, and we’re going to give some guys a chance to prove themselves,” he said.
“It will also provide an opportunity for players in our current group to put their hands up and fill the void left by Bobby and Magic.”
