Perfection for Angaston

IT’S 18 games, 18 wins for Angaston as it cemented an undefeated Barossa and Light division one bowls season with an emphatic 128-72 home win against fourth-place Eudunda.
The hosts won all four rinks, led by David Jaunay’s four with a 32-9 victory, while Mathew Short’s crew won just as convincingly 38-16.
Chris Jones led the visitors’ best rink, but fell in a close tussle 22-24.
At the other end of the table, despite Donald Mackereth’s four taking a rink 26-23, Kapunda lost 75-109 at Nuriootpa to claim the wooden spoon
Crews led be Nuri’s Wayne Williams and Stephen Heinze left with 16 and 17 point rink wins respectively to stretch the final score.
Fifth-place Lyndoch established itself as the ‘best of the rest’ after a conclusive 127-82 win on its home green against Freeling.
Susanne Drummond (31-25) was the only Lyndoch skipper to win their frame by fewer than 10 shots, while David Boswell (34-19), Dylan O’Leary (32-20) and Ashley Thomas (30-18) were never in danger.
In division 2a, Freeling had a chance to lock in its spot in the post-season, but was blown of its home green by minor premiers Angaston 37-104.
Unfortunately for Kapunda, it failed to take advantage, dropping two-out-of-three rinks in a 66-84 loss to second-place Tanunda.
In division 2b, minor premiers, and premiership favourites Angaston flexed its muscles against wooden spooners Eudunda with a demoralising 119-49 drubbing.
In division three, Tanunda Black completed an undefeated season, registering 18 wins and one draw and topping it off with a one-sided 68-33 win over second-place Angaston.
