Panthers pip Dogs

ANGASTON has finished the Barossa, Light & Gawler women’s football minor rounds in second spot after it beat Barossa District by five points on Sunday.
The Panthers trailed by five points at the main change, but rallied to  kick four goals to two in the second half to secure the win.
Cooper Hyde and Melinda Firth kicked two goals each for the victors, while Robyn Crack was terrific for the Bulldogs, also with two.
Meanwhile, South Gawler obliterated Gawler Central by 117 points.
The Lions put together their best performance of the season, booting 16.21 and holding the Tigers scoreless.
Jakarra Michalk was sensational with five goals, while Mel Schmidtke, Paula O’Donoghue and Kyla Pizzino scored two majors each.
Elsewhere, Nuriootpa sealed its second victory of the year by stunning Kapunda by 28 points.
The Tigers buried the Bombers in the second and third quarters, kicking 6.4 to one goal to lead by 31 points at the final break.
Harley Gerlach was inspirational with five goals, while for the Bombers, Ella Mickan did all she could with two.
Finally, Willaston completed a perfect season by defeating Tanunda by 18 points.
The Donnybrooks have won all of their games this season, and largely thanks to Sarah-Jane Jameson, who kicked five goals.
Megan Boers was also impressive, featuring in the best and booting a goal.

Under 17

Angaston narrowly avoided an upset loss to Barossa District, beating the bottom-placed side by one point.
Zarlee Lange booted a couple of majors for the Panthers, while Olivia Frederick kicked two for the Dogs.
Finally, Tanunda defeated Willaston by seven points.
Caitlin Stafford kicked two of her side’s three goals, while Mia Nolan-Grigg slotted both of the Donnybrooks’ two majors.

Under 14

Barossa District secured a top two position by toppling Angaston by 31 points.
Kirra Tonkin kicked three majors for the Bulldogs, while Lily Guymer was far and away Angaston’s best, also with three.
Elsewhere, unbeaten Kapunda made short work of Gawler Central in a 49-point rout.
Liana Antonioli was inspirational with four goals in the win.
Finally, Willaston got its first win of the season by beating winless Tanunda by 11 points.
Camryn Rocca slotted three goals for the Donnybrooks, while Samara Bellchambers was the Magpies
