AN Elizabeth South man says he will be spending the week house-hunting after scoring a division one win worth over $1 million in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw, three days before his rental lease ended.

The winner held one of the five division one winning entries nationally, in Saturday X Lotto draw 4069; each taking home a division one prize of $1,053,905.

The man said the win has come at a fortunate time for him and his wife.

“We’ve got to move out of our house this week due to our lease ending and instead of looking for a new rental we’ll be able to go house shopping,” he said.

“I already had an entry into the weekend’s draw, but late last week I decided to buy another one.

“I’m glad I did because that was the one that won!”

The local, who wished to remain anonymous, said the win was a strange feeling, but will really change his lifestyle.

“I discovered the news on Sunday morning when I went to my local newsagency,” he said.

“When I scanned the ticket and it said, ‘go to counter’, and the lady advised me she couldn’t pay me out, that’s when I realised I’d won something big.

“When she told me I had won division one I just thought ‘wow’.

“It’s not something you expect to happen.

“One minute you’re going about life as usual, and the next you have a lot of money.”

The winning entry was purchased at the Elizabeth South Newsagency & Post Office, in the Elizabeth South Shopping Centre.

Shop owner Ki Jun said he was surprised by the unexpected news his outlet had sold a division one winning entry.

“Our customers will be so happy to hear that a local and regular customer has won,” he said.

“This is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning entry, so we are thrilled.

“Congratulations to our winner! We wish him a happy life ahead with this win!”

The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4069 were 35, 21, 2, 43, 18 and 22, while the supplementary numbers were 10 and 37.
