Nuri wins Friday night fight

NURIOOTPA put on a scoring clinic to defeat Gawler/Trinity Old Scholars 6-3 in Barossa Valley A-men hockey on Friday night.

Nuri dominated an action-packed first half and led 5-3 at the half-time break.

Jordan Rhind scored a hat-trick for the victors, while young talent Josh Longo also contributed.

For Gawler/Trinity, Justin Cairns scored a brace.

On Saturday, Angaston-Moculta United (AMU) thrashed Tanunda 8-3.

AMU was tremendous in the first half, and went into the break with a 4-0 lead.

Callum Munchenberg showcased his abilities with a hat-trick, while usual goal-scorer Daniel Wall converted twice.

For the Pies, Nick Dry and Daniel Gogoll found the back of the goals.

In A-women action, Gawler obliterated Nuriootpa 11-0 on Friday night.

The Strikers were consistent across the two halves, scoring five times in the first and six in the second.

Bri Seabrook was terrific with four goals, and Natalie Stevens and Jay Galmesa scored twice each.

On Saturday, AMU came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Tanunda.

Alicia Manning cancelled out the Magpies’ first half goal to secure a premiership point.

In B-men competition, Tanunda Black breezed past Trinity Old Scholars 3-0.

Sam Bentley was terrific with two goals, while Rohan Semmler also scored.

In B-women action, Clare United toppled Gawler 3-2.

Brianna Cheetham, Krystal Landorf and Kirby Cricchiola all scored for Clare, while Monique Smith and Jess White ensured the Strikers put up a fight with their two goals.

Elsewhere, Trinity Old Scholars crushed Nuriootpa 4-0.

The TOSers scored once in the first half, but then added a further three goals to seal a comfortable win.
