New toilet facilities a big boost to Barossa Farmers’ Market
1 min read

BAROSSA Farmers’ Market stallholders, board members and volunteers gathered at the Vintners Shed in Angaston on Friday to mark the completion of new toilet facilities.
The development, which was supported by a State Government grant, has tripled the number of toilets on-site and provided designated male and female cubicles, plus a disabled toilet and baby change room area at the market for the first time.
Barossa Farmers’ Market general manager Elaine Ratcliffe
said the new toilets would enhance the visitor experience for
marketgoers.
“With the market attracting both locals and visitors to the region, there has been increasing demand on the limited toilet facilities,” she said.
“We hope the improved experience that we can offer now will
encourage further people to visit the market, and prompt customers to stay longer and shop with more of our stallholders.”
Barossa Farmers’ Market chairperson Matt Taylor acknowledged the support provided by the State Government and Yalumba, which owns the market site.
“The Barossa Farmers’ Market provides the opportunity for local farmers and producers to sell direct to shoppers,” he said.
“It was set up by local community members over 16 years ago
and improving the experience is important, as we are a meeting place for the community and offer visitors an authentic Barossa food experience.”
The Barossa Farmers’ Market hosts around 50 local farmers
and food producers who sell their fresh, seasonal produce and
locally made food and beverage products direct to consumers.
It is open every Saturday from 7.30am-11.30am.
