Hummocks keeps rolling in APNA

LIAM PHILLIPS
HUMMOCKS made it five games,
five wins in Adelaide Plains Netball
Association’s A1 division after a
strong 60-21 home win against Long
Plains on Saturday.
Hummocks’ shooters Jessica Taylor
(34 goals) and Ashleigh Williams (26
goals) each outscored Long Plains in
a comprehensive offensive showing,
while goal keeper Meg Geddes won
best-on-court.
For Long Plains, goal keeper Stacey
Faehrmann was kept busy all day and
was recognised as the visiting side’s best
player.
Hamley Bridge has its first win on
the board after leaving Mallala with a
razor-close 39-38 triumph.
Emma Lane was Hamley’s best on
the day from the goal keeper position,
and keeping with the trend of great
defence, Mallala’s goal keeper Ashlee
Angus received the plaudits for the
home side.
The result comes one week after
Mallala tied with Virginia 51-51, but
the Magpies will have to wait at least
another week to try and get the taste out
of their mouth as they have the bye in
round seven.
In a battle for second place, Virginia
came out on top of Balaklava to take the
contest 60-45 in a high-scoring affair.
Virginia goal defence Rebecca
Devine was named best-on-court, while
for Balaklava the honour went to centre
Gaynor Tink.
