Longies climb ladder after brilliant showing against Balaklava

LONG Plains surged into the top two after defeating Balaklava by six goals in Adelaide Plains A1 netball on Saturday afternoon.

Emma Tiller was terrific in goalie, shooting 35 goals, while Emily Shepherd was equally good for the Peckerettes, scoring 31 times.

Rebecca McBride’s work in defence for the Tigers was admirable, while Gaynor Tink again fought hard all day for the losing side.

Elsewhere, Two Wells smashed Angle Vale by 54 goals.

Tara Learhinan was again inspirational, cutting off the Owls’ limited attacks.

Meanwhile, Virginia overcame Hamley Bridge by six goals.

Steph Maddalena was terrific in the mid-court for the Rams, while Emily Boothey was the Bombers’ best.

Finally, Hummocks-Watchman easily accounted for Mallala by 20 goals.

Lauren Maxwell was unbelievable in goal attack with 24 goals, while Ashleigh Williams played a solid supporting role with 23.

Beth Reid linked up well with Sarah Young in the mid-court for the victors, while Ella Thorne was respectable for the Pies.
