LONG Plains has booked its place in the Adelaide Plains A1 netball grand final by defeating reigning premier Hummocks by just one goal in Saturday’s second semi-final.
The Tigers and Eagles couldn’t be split at the first break, with the two sides locked away at 7-7 at quarter-time.
Longies then took control of the contest, scoring 13 goals to nine to open up a four-goal buffer at the long break.
Jane McBride and Emma Tiller were shooting well for the Tigers, while Ashleigh Williams was terrific for the Eagles.
Hummocks clawed a couple of goals back in the third stanza to set up an enthralling final quarter.
However, the Tigers held on by the skin of their teeth to book the first spot in the APNA grand final.
Stacey Faehrmann was named best on court for the Tigers for her work in defence, while Hummocks’ Beth Reid was again sensational.
