KAPUNDA produced the upset of the season so far in Barossa, Light & Gawler reserves football on Saturday, knocking off Angaston by 11 points.
The Bombers and Panthers were deadlocked at 2.4 at half-time, before Kapunda kicked four goals to two in the second half to run away with the game.
Jayden Higgins and Chris Smith both kicked two majors for the victors, while Alex Brackstone slotted two for the Panthers.
Elsewhere, Gawler Central slaughtered Barossa District by 90 points.
Paul Bova and Adam Byster scored 11 goals between them to all but seal the Tigers a double chance in the finals.
Meanwhile, Nuriootpa defeated South Gawler by 22 points.
Daniel Burgess led the way for the Tigers, kicking three, while the Lions all had single goal-kickers.
Lastly, Willaston toppled Freeling by 76 points.
Matt Spirritt was terrific with three goals, and Adam Jones booted two.
Under 17
Angaston enjoyed a solid day out by defeating Kapunda by 43 points.
Angus Pfeiffer was a clear best on ground for the Panthers, kicking three majors.
Out at Williamstown, Flynn Pratt led Barossa District to a 75-point victory over Gawler Central.
Pratt booted five majors and was best on ground, while Nathan Dyer was also handy with three.
Further north, Nuriootpa defeated South Gawler by 26 points.
The Tigers were in command from the start and led by 28 points at half-time.
Jack Henke and Jack Riethmuller both kicked three goals for the victors, while Tom Clements was a standout for the Lions, also with three.
Finally, Zac East put a dagger through Freeling’s finals hopes as his Willaston side triumphed by 88 points.
East booted 10 snags to shoot to the top of the goal-kicking tally and was well supported by Saxon Evans, who slotted three.
Under 15
Angaston produced a stellar performance to beat struggling Kapunda by 76 points.
The Panthers held the Bombers goalless for the first three quarters before Riley Menzel opened their account.
Koby Rosenzweig kicked five majors.
Elsewhere, Barossa District toppled Gawler Central by 51 points.
Will O’Brien was stellar again with three goals for the Dogs.
Meanwhile, Nuriootpa came from behind to beat South Gawler by two points.
Kody Booms and Kane Materne converted two goals each for the Tigers.
In the remaining match, Freeling put a scoreless opening half behind it to beat Willaston by two points.
The Donnybrooks led by 22 points at the main break, before the Legs rallied with four goals, and a few behinds, to snatch the win.
Taryn Hanley kicked two goals for Freeling.
