Interleague results split

THE Barossa, Light & Gawler Football Association under 13 and 15 teams took on the Riverland Football League in the annual interleague games this past weekend.
Usually the competition would involve an under 18 side, but the RFL was unable to field one this season.
BL&G’s under 13s side fell to the RFL by 16 points.
Coached by Barossa District’s Jamie Sibbick, BL&G was unable to get on top of its opponents, despite the best efforts of Ryan
Lane-Ellis and Koby Barker.
Lane-Ellis and Jett Assender, both Tanunda players, kicked the two goals in the defeat.
Later in the day, the under 15s stunned the RFL to secure their first-ever win in the competition since its inception four
years ago.
BL&G were a class above and had 20 scoring shots to nine as it ran out 26-point victors.
Willaston’s Sam Higginbottom and Hudson Cole, Angaston’s
Malakye Kohlhagen and Tanunda’s Tyson Linke kicked two
goals each.
Kapunda’s Riley Menzel, Nuriootpa’s Kobey Martin and South
Gawler’s Fraser Mann all added a major each as well.
Cole was named best on ground while Kohlhagen and Barossa
District’s Liam Tappert also impressed.
